The Leaf Home Water Solutions LWS1.0 water system backwash frequency depends on the settings. If the WATER TYPE is set to CITY, the system can be configured to skip a specific number of backwash cycles. The system also supports regeneration modes, including scheduled regeneration every X days or when the remaining capacity reaches 3%.

How do I bypass my system to water plants and lawn? Salt hurts both

1 comments:
Mr. Anderson
March 31, 2025

To bypass the Leaf Home Water Solutions LWS1.0 system, use the manual bypass valve located at the back of the control. Turn the ON/OFF knobs so they are not in line with the INLET and OUTLET. This will isolate the water softener and allow untreated water to flow directly for watering plants and lawn.

HOW YOUR WATER SOFTENER WORKS Water softeners remove the problem causing hardness minerals (calcium and magnesium) from your water by exchanging them with harmless sodium ions in a process called ion exchange. Unlike calcium and magnesium, sodium stays dissolved in water and does not form a scale. Sodium also does not interfere with the cleaning action of soaps. Plas- tic resin beads charged with sodium ions release the sodium and exchange them with the hardness ions.
