BeFORe USING The TheRmOmeTeR

Occasionally, handling in shipment or improper storage may cause the liquid to separate slightly. This is not a defect.
The liquid can be reunited easily before use. Shake the thermometer, bulb end down. Pause between shakes to permit
liquid to run down the tube. Continue until liquid is completely joined.

USING The TheRmOmeTeR

1. Clean the thermometer with soap and cool water prior to use.
2. Firmly shake the thermometer, bulb end down (ensuring a solid hold on the thermometer), so the column is below
35°C/95°F.
3. You can now place it at the desired site of measurement.
Note: once a measurement has been taken, tilt the
thermometer forward and back to see the reading.
See diagram.

ORal USe (aDUlTS aND ChIlDReN OVeR 4 yeaRS):

1. Do not drink hot or cold fluids, exercise, smoke or perform other activities prior to a measurement. Doing so will
result in increased or decreased temperature readings when compared to your normal and average temperature.

2. Place the probe tip well under the tongue and keep the mouth closed for approximately 3 minutes. For children,
instruct them not to bite down on the probe.

placement of the probe tip could result in a longer time for a reading.

UNDeRaRm (aXIllaRy USe):

1. Wipe underarm with a dry towel.
2. Place probe tip in armpit and bring arm down against the body. The probe should be pointing upwards in the same
direction as your body if possible. Leave for minimum 5 minutes before checking reading.

temperatures.
