    Configuring the Appliance This chapter describes how to boot, configure, and join two CDS Generation 5 nodes to form an Actifio appliance. CDS Generation 5 appliance Configuring the Actifio CDS Generation 5 appliance involves mapping IPv4 addresses allocated by the network administrator.

    First, confirm both nodes system BIOS are initialized to the factory Actifio settings. Turn on both nodes by pressing the power button( )located on the upper-right-hand side of the node. The power button is to the left of the status LEDs.
  • Page 21 Repeat steps 6-7 for the Secondary node. Zone the nodes: node to switch, and switch to storage. Then, create volumes on the back-end storage for the Actifio host to use. Finally, add the volume’s LUNs to the host. Refer to Fibre Channel on page 21 for procedure.

    After zoning, creating volumes, and adding LUNs to the host node, create the appliance. Make sure both nodes are visible to one another on the network. Enter ping <Secondary node ip>. Enter the appliance IP address into the local web browser to access the Actifio Appliance Installer. Appliance Installer The Actifio Appliance Installer allows mapping of the IPv4 addresses needed for creation of the appliance.

You will be redirected to the Actifio Resource Center, but you must wait approximately 30 minutes before the system is back online. After you click Complete Installation, you will see a dialog box stating INSTALLING NOW.

As of the initial release of the CDS Generation 5, Actifio sells the IBM AN2498-b24 Switch and NetAPP e2800 storage array. Your switch and storage array may vary.

    This section provides instructions on how to install the Lantronix SpiderDuo KVM. The SpiderDuo device is a KVM- over-IP used to provide remote access to the CDS Generation 5.
