Equipment Inspection After fan/heater delivery and/or assembly completion, before each use, and at the end of the season inspecting this equipment is mandatory. 1. Shut off, lockout, and tagout all power sources to the equipment before any inspection, service, or maintenance.
6. OPERATION EASYDRY® – FAN AND HEATER 6. Operation Before continuing, ensure you have completely read and understood this manual’s Safety section, in addition to the safety information in the section(s) below. 6.1. Operation Safety • Ensure appropriate safety accessories are installed. Selection and use of safety accessories for the specific installation is the responsibility of the customer.
6. OPERATION EASYDRY® – FAN AND HEATER Proper combustion requires an ideal fuel-to-air ratio. As static pressure under the drying floor increases the airflow encounters resistance and is diminished. As airflow decreases, the amount of fuel being delivered to the burner should be decreased accordingly.
6. OPERATION EASYDRY® – FAN AND HEATER a. Make certain the transition is free of debris and holes. 4. Make certain the thermostat and/or other controls are in place and in working order. Note Occasionally a high limit switch will trip due to vibration or during shipment. Push the red RESET button if necessary.
6. OPERATION EASYDRY® – FAN AND HEATER Figure 11. Positive Pressure Airflow 6.5.2 Multiple Fans When using multiple fans in one bin, you must prevent reverse rotation of idle fans by making certain fans start-up simultaneously or by employing shutters that shield blades from moving air. Reverse rotation of idle fans pose concerns for the worker safety and fan/motor wear and tear.

6. OPERATION EASYDRY® – FAN AND HEATER 6.7. Start-Up and Operation Important • During initial heater startup, qualified gas service personnel must perform a gas leak check to verify the gas tightness of the heater’s components and piping under normal operating conditions. •...
6. OPERATION EASYDRY® – FAN AND HEATER b. Very slowly open the liquid tap allowing just enough propane to vaporize naturally and build up a few pounds of pressure. c. Start the heater. This process may include some trial-and-error due to varying ambient temperature conditions. Be careful to allow only a small amount of liquid to vaporize.
6. OPERATION EASYDRY® – FAN AND HEATER 6.8. Drying Considerations Requirements Drying grain involves two primary components: 1. Heat — as measured in British Thermal Units (BTU) 2. Airflow — as measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM) Combustion Proper combustion requires an ideal fuel-to-air ratio: 1.
6. OPERATION EASYDRY® – FAN AND HEATER 6.9. Storage Instructions If the fan/heater is not to be used for an extended period of time: 1. Close the propane/natural gas valve at the tank. 2. Allow the heater unit to run until the flame burns out. This purges the gas out of the heater plumbing and supply lines.
7. MAINTENANCE EASYDRY® – FAN AND HEATER 7. Maintenance Before continuing, ensure you have completely read and understood this manual’s Safety section, in addition to the safety information in the section(s) below. 7.1.
