The emissions can be divided into two parts, the conducted emission and the radiated emission.
  • Page 117 Installation GT3000 A2.2.1 RFI FILTER (codes: see Table A2.5) RFI filter in an earthed line (TN or TT) Network: The filters are suitable for earthed lines only, for example in public European 400 V lines. According to EN 61800-3, filters are not compatible in insulated industrial lines with own supply transformers due to their safety risks in such floating lines (IT networks).
  • Page 118 SVGT030-166 RFI Filter removing The GT3000 frame IIN, IVN, VN and VIN with six pulses AC power supply has an internal RFI filter. IT (ungrounded) systems: If the drive is equipped with EMC filter, disconnect the ground connections of the filter as indicated in the pictures below, before connecting the drive to an ungrounded system.
  • Page 119 The GT3000, with EMC filter, is a product of C3 and C4 categories and so complies with the limit values of the EN61800-3 for the second environment. The GT3000, with optional class B EMC filter and motor cable length less than 25m, can be considered a product of C2 category and so complies with the reduced limit values for the first environment.
  • Page 120 GT3000 Installation A2.4 MOTOR CABLE A2.4.1 Connection cables between inverter and motors NOTE: The power motor cables must be shielded. If they are not shielded RFI or EMI problems may arise.) Shielded cables assure a greater immunity of other users of the plant against the noise generated by the drive and they returns high frequency current directly to the drive through the shielding instead of the current flowing through the motor frame.
  • Page 121 Drive – Motor connections with two shielded cables Highlight the connection between the frame of the motor and the ground bar of the GT3000 panel performed by means of drive-motor connection cables (shield and PE conductors). Connections – converter side: a) The PE conductors and the shields must be connected to the ground bars of the converter panel.
  • Page 122 GT3000 Installation A2.4.3 Cabling All control cables must be shielded. Control cable shielding prevents noise from entering control circuits. The shield shall be grounded at the signal origin. Use a double-shielded twisted pair cable for analogue signals. This type of cable is recommended for the pulse encoder signals also.
