    Manual EDITION G Recommendations Power requirement Power consumption for thermal printers is fairly high. To ensure good printing result it is recommended to use a power supply that can provide at least 7.5 A peak (@26.4V). Recommendations are based on meas- urements at the worst case condition of 26.4V supply voltage while printing a blackline.

    Manual EDITION G Settings Parameter Settings This controller allows to adjust the settings by means of software commands. The settings are saved in the non-volatile memory and are also available after a reset or power-up. This includes the interface parameters, the error mode, external sensors and other features.

    Manual EDITION G Error modes Error modes There are three error modes (MODE A, MODE C, MODE R). In Error Mode A: the printer status is only sent on request. In Error Mode C: response characters are sent anytime when there is a status change.

The Command FS will be lost in case of an error since the input buffer will be reset when an error occurs.

    Manual EDITION G External Sensors External Sensors The printer controller has three connections for external sensors. Near End Sensor Usually, the near-end state can be detected by monitoring blackmarks. If a blackmark can't be used an additional sensor can be installed to the paper roll holder to detect the near end state.

    Manual EDITION G Additional Settings Additional Settings Recalibration Mode If paper is held in the printer for an extended period of time, the paper can be stuck to the thermal head and lead to a faulty printout. Such adhesive effect strongly depends on environmental conditions like hu- midity.
