Battery Replacement
1.
Replace battery when appears in lower right corner of LCD display.
2.
Pull battery cover off (located at opposite end of probe).
3.
Gently pull out plastic circuit board with battery chamber approximately 1 cm.

•
immediately
Do not use thermometer in ear. Designed for oral and axillary readings only
•
Do not place thermometer battery near extreme heat
•
Note: Use of probe cover may result in 0.1⁰C (0.2⁰F) discrepancy from actual temperature
•
Normal body temperature varies with age, time of day, physical activity, hormonal and
•
environmental factors
Temperature in the late afternoon or evening will usually be 0.6⁰C (1.0⁰F) higher than the
•
morning temperature
It is recommended to check the performance of the thermometer every 2 years. Do not
•
disassemble.
Performance of thermometer may be affected if the following occurs:

Instructions for use
1.
Disinfect the probe with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol – DO NOT boil probe.
2.
Press the on/off button next to LCD display. A tone will sound as the screen displays
followed by last recorded temperature. Note: If the measured or room temperature is less than
90⁰F or 32⁰C, the LCD will display Lo, if the measured or room temperature is higher than
109.9⁰F or 42.9⁰C, the LCD will display Hi.
3.
Position thermometer in desired location (mouth or armpit).
Oral use: Place thermometer under the tongue as indicated with a check
mark. Close mouth and breathe through the nose. Normal temperature should
be 36.3⁰C to 37.2⁰C (97.3⁰F to 99.1⁰F).
Armpit use: Wipe armpit dry. Place probe in armpit and keep arm pressed firmly at side. Normal
temperature should be 35.8⁰C to 36.8⁰C (96.4⁰F to 98.2⁰F).
4.
The degree sign flashes on the LCD while the thermometer is reading your temp.10 seconds
after thermometer reaches a stable temperature reading, the flashing will stop and an alarm will
beep. The measured reading will appear on the LCD. The displayed reading will not change
when the thermometer is removed from its testing position. Note: normal alarm: Bi---Bi---Bi and
high temperature alarm: Bi-Bi-Bi ---- Bi-Bi-Bi ---- Bi-Bi-Bi.
5.
To prolong battery life, turn unit off after testing. If no action is taken, unit will automatically shut
off after approximately 10 minutes.
For optimal product performance, it is recommended to replace thermometers after 5 years of usage.
