COMPACTEC. The mechanical parts of the SCREENTEC are situated at the top of the equipment. The rake engages inside the barscreen thanks to the gravity. There are two proximity inductive sensors which controls the direction of motion of the rake.
  • Page 50: Standard Operating Procedure

2.1.1. S CREENTEC CLEANING PROCEDURE The following schematic describes the motion of the rake inside the Screentec. The starting and final position of the rake is always at the top when the equipment runs in AUTO. A standard cleaning cycle follows these steps: The gearmotor unrolls the belt from drum to move the rake down.
  • Page 51: Compactec Cleaning Procedure

2.1.2. C OMPACTEC CLEANING PROCEDURE Coming from the Screentec, debris are discharged inside the Compactec. There, they are first conveyed though the conveying zone thanks to a shaftless screw sitting on HDPE liner. If installed, the conveying zone washing ramp cleans part of the organics from debris in this zone.

MODE The AUTO mode is selected thanks to 3-positions selector switches HAND/OFF/AUTO mounted on front door of the control panel. There are 3 switches, one for the Screentec, one for the screw and one for the washing ramp(s) In AUTO mode, the equipment follows the settings set in the controller screen.
  • Page 56: Hand Mode

The operator can choose to run the equipment on ‘’FLOAT’’. The float sensor is a device installed inside the channel, upstream the Screentec. When the barscreen gets blind, the upstream water level raises, and the float sensor kicks ON and this starts the equipment. Once the barscreen cleaned, the water level goes back down, and the float sensor turns OFF.
  • Page 57: Safety, Fault And Troubleshooting

The switches must be engaged in HAND to drive each device in HAND. For the Screentec, the 3-positions selector switch DOWN / OFF / UP (spring return to the middle, for the safety) allows the operator driving the rake up and down.
