Model 2870 Multi-Dwelling POTS Splitter Installation Guide

This guide provides the basic information required to install the Comtest Model 2870 Multi-Dwelling POTS

Splitter Shelf in a Multi-Dwelling location.

Installation

The 2870 requires 10¾" x 8" of mounting space. Four wood screws (not supplied) are typically required for

mounting on a wall. Comtest recommends the use of #8 wood screws, the length of which is determined by the

thickness of the wood surface on which the 2870 is installed.

The 2870 cabling configurations will vary depending on the installation. However, the physical interface to the

Front Panel connectors are standard 50-pin RJ-21 type receptacle connectors. Each 2870 provides 25 POTS

splitters terminated on each 50-pin connector.
