Using a flat head screwdriver, check to see if the impeller is free to turn. If the impeller is bound or feels restricted or gritty, continue through these steps. Using a PH2 Philips screwdriver, remove the screws marked to release the volute from the pump.

Scrape out and clean the volute from all debris and build- The volute should be smooth and flat. Ensure that the o- ring remains in place around the outer edge of the volute...

Once the volute and impeller are clean and clear from the blockages and debris. Carefully reassemble the pump, taking care to ensure that the O-rings are in place on the volute and on the lower rubber cup.
