UNPACKING!

The shipping container and contents must be inspected by the purchaser for damage to goods immediately upon receipt
of goods, and a claim must be filed with the carrier if damage is discovered. The purchaser must contact Scootworks
within 24 hours from receipt of damaged goods to file a claim, and for further instructions. Your Scootworks Honda
VLX (VT-600) sissy bar kit should contain the following parts:
#1- 2 mounting rails
#2- 4 screws 6x25mm
#3- 4 spacers 9mm
#4- 4 washers 6mm
#5- 4 6mm lock washers
#6- 4 6mm nuts
#7- 4 8x25 bolts
#8- 4 8mm lock washers
#9- 4 8x20mm bolts
#10- 4 8mm lock washers
#11- 4 8mm nuts
#12- 1 Sissy bar with pad
#13- 4 Mounting tabs
BEGIN INSTALLATION...
1. Remove the seat from your motorcycle by removing the 2 screws under the middle of your seat. There is one
screw on each side. If there has never been a sissy bar installed on your bike, it may be necessary to drill holes in
the fender in which to mount the sissy bar in the space made available by Honda. Consult your maintenance
manual for more information regarding this procedure.
2. Attach the mounting rails to each side of the sissy bar. Use the (4) 8 x 20mm screws, (4) lock washers, flat washers
and locking nuts to secure the mounting rails to the sissy bar. (If you are also installing the luggage rack, install the
luggage rack on the inside of the mounting rails) See the photo on the next page (fig. 2).
3. Attach the (4) mounting tabs to the inside of the rails with the bend of the mounting tab pointed downwards. Use
the (4) 8mm socket head bolts and 8mm flat washers to secure the mounting tabs to the rails. See photo below
(fig. 1).
