SETUP & ASSEMBLY
F
WARNING! The supply tap being used must provide at least 7 litres of water per minute. The hose should be reinforced
with an internal diameter of at least 13mm.
F
WARNING! Ensure the washer is not connected to the mains power before continuing;
performing any maintenance, or servicing.
3.1.
Preliminary checks and advice.
3.1.1.
Before starting ensure the water intake is correctly connected. Dry running can seriously damage the unit.
3.1.2.
Check the inlet filter is clean; pump delivery and pressure will be reduced if blocked. Never use the machine without a filter (fig 1).
3.1.3.
The unit is filled with oil and sealed at the factory. There is no need to check the oil level.
3.2.
Setup.
3.2.1
Insert the lance into the trigger assembly and twist to secure (fig 2).
3.2.2.
The other end of the hose should be connected to the outlet on the machine.
3.3.
Precautions for storing.
3.3.1.
If the washer is to remain unused for more than 2 months, or if it is going to be stored in a place where there is a risk of freezing,
it is adviseable that you pour an anti-freeze solution into the pump, via the water inlet.
3.4
Precautions before starting.
3.4.1.
If the washer has not been used for a prolonged period turn the motor by hand, with the key provided (fig 3), before switching the
machine on. This will release any blockages, deposits or limescale. Remove the key before switching on!
Taking these precautions before starting will avoid damage to the motor and sealing system.
4.
OPERATION
F
WARNING! Ensure you have read, understood and apply Section 1 safety instructions.
F

WARNING! Dry running can seriously damage the unit.
p
F
WARNING! DO NOT leave motor running for more than 1-2 minutes without operating the trigger, as temperature/pressure
p
increase may damage sealing system.
p
F
WARNING! While the machine is running, DO NOT cover or place it in an enclosed space with poor ventilation.
4.1.
Start procedure.
4.1.1.
Fully open the mains water tap and ensure there are no leaks from the hoses or connectors, and that hoses are not kinked.
4.1.2.
Depress the trigger to allow any air to escape, hold for 10 seconds then release.
4.1.3.
Turn the machine on and allow 20 seconds for the water pressure to build up sufficiently before depressing the trigger.
You will need to experiment with the pressure washer to determine the best setting for the lance.
4.2.
Adjustments.
F
WARNING! Avoid sudden bursts of water as they will cause the water pressure to drop and put extreme
pressure on the hoses and connectors. If this happens you will need to switch the machine off, and refer
back to the start procedure.
4.2.1.
The water fan must only be adjusted with the trigger closed.
4.2.2.
Rotate nozzle in order to determine the best setting for the lance, either a fine high pressure jet or rotablast (fig 4).
4.2.3.
If someone else is using water from the same supply as the washer, the water pressure will drop and the
washer will not operate correctly. Switch the motor off immediately and wait until the pressure is restored.
4.2.4.
When finished working, discharge the remaining pressure in the hose by pulling the trigger.
4.3.
How to use the detergent kit.
4.3.1.
Add 0.5 litres of detergent to the detergent bottle.
4.3.2.
Connect the detergent bottle to the lance (fig 5).
4.3.3.
Depress the trigger to apply detergent mix. The amount of detergent supplied is varied by turning
the adjuster knob on top of the bottle. Leave the detergent to act for 1-2 minutes before removing the bottle.
fig 1.
By rotating the stream of water at high
speed, it is possible to increase the
effective cleaning pressure of the
washer. We quote the pressure the
water leaves the pump at as ‘Manifold
Pressure’ and express the cleaning
power of the washer as the
C
‘Effective Cleaning Power’.
