  • Page 2 The units are totally self-contained, eliminating costly installation. The Tornado downdraft workbench is a portable and cost effective machine that is very easy to operate and maintain. However, there are important issues which you should be aware: WARNING.
  • Page 3 QUICK OPERATION SHEET Tornado Workbench The infromation that follows will be used to get your new Tornado machine operational in the shortest period of time. Use this sheet for the intial machine set-up and operation. You may refer to this sheet at any time, for more detailed operational instructions refer to the main operational manual.
  • Page 4 If the unit is equipped with the optional HEPA after filtration, use the magnahelic gauge supplied to indicate when the HEPA filter requires replacement. The HEPA filter is not cleanable and requires replacement when the magnahelic gauge reaches 2.5” S.P.W.G. If equipped the magnahelic gauge for the primary filter is located on the left side of the unit top panel and the HEPA magnahelic is located on the right side of the unit.

    OPERATION ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES AND EAR PROTECTION WHEN OPERATING ANY MACHINE. The Tornado workbenchs have been designed for the collection of nuisance dust created by jobs involving grinding, polishing, sanding, wire brush cleaning and much more. Because of the potential fire or explosion hazard, the manufacturer does not recommend using the downdraft workbench for welding or spark producing applications such as grinding or sanding of aluminum, titanium, or magnesium unless the downdraft bench is equipped with wet dust collection.

    Remove, empty and replace the dust collection pan. On single cartridge units removing the front access cover allows removal of the dust collection pan. LIGHT REPLACEMENT. The standard light for the Tornado Workbench and Workstation is a dust tight fluorescent lighting fixture complete with cover. Removal of the light cover is necessary for bulb replacement.
