- Page 4 INSTALLING YOUR EXPANDABLE GATE: STEP 1: Start by placing your expandable gate in the opening that you are closing off. The opening can be no smaller than 26” (66cm) and no larger than 42” (106cm) wide. ATTENTION: If the opening you choose has molding near the floor, be sure to move the gate up above the molding so that the gate is installed on a vertically even surface.
- Page 5 STEP 3: Once the gate is touching both ends of the opening, pull up on the square locking pin on the adjustment mechanism. Then, while still holding the locking pin up, slide the entire adjustment mechanism towards the center of the gate, until it can go no further.
- Page 6 STEP 5: Finally, to tighten and secure the gate in place, turn the round adjustment cylinder away from you (clockwise). This will create the pressure you need to stabilize your gate and make it fit as securely as possible. Turn the adjustment cylinder until the gate is tightly secured in the opening and cannot easliy be pushed out.
- Page 7 TO REMOVE YOUR EXPANDABLE GATE: STEP 1: Start by turning the adjustment cylinder towards you (counter-clockwise). This will alleviate the pressure. STEP 2: Lift up on the square locking pin and while doing that, slide the entire adjustment mechanism away from the middle of the gate. STEP 3: With both hand on the outer frame of the gate, slide the panels inward and remove the gate from the opening.
