    TrekView software makes it easy for you to manage, archive and analyze temperature history of shipped or stored prod- ucts. The compact design of TrekView Tags allows you to monitor temperature at the item, case, pallet or truckload level. TrekView Tag temperature data can be downloaded either with a TrekView Desktop Reader, TrekView Handheld Reader or by directly connecting a TrekView Tag to a PC via the USB port.

    An instance of a measured temperature exceeding a programmed temperature limit. Also known as a temperature breach or a cold chain break. The acronym for full tag transfer. Software properties can be set up to send full tag transfer upon downloading a TrekView tag. Data will then be sent upon every tag being downloaded.
  • Page 7 Off Mode In this state, a TrekView Tag is not recording, in standby mode or soaking. The tag is off. This condition is the lowest power state and is the proper mode for TrekView storage.

    In order to use the ON/OFF button on the front of the tag, the tag must be placed in standby mode and confi gured using the TrekView software. To confi gure your tag, please refer to page 57.     TREKVIEW INTERNAL USB TrekView Tags are available with an internal USB port. These tags are contained in a zipper pouch with a sealed end. There is a notch in the sealed end. In order to connect the tag to a PC, tear the sealed end off of the pouch. Begin the tear at the notch.

    Starting TrekView Report Software The TrekView report software automatically generates a PDF report of recorded tag data. The fi rst time a TrekView USB tag or Reader is connected to a PC with TrekView Software, the following AutoPlay mes- sage will appear.

    PDF reports under “My Documents/Log-ic Reports.” This window will show where the TrekView reports are saved. Use this function to quickly open previously saved reports. The TrekView Report Software will automatically make a folder in the “My Documents” folder called “Log-ic Reports”.

    TREKVIEW SOFTWARE Starting TrekView User Software The TrekView user software is used for more detailed operations than the TrekView report software. The TrekView soft- ware is used for managing tag programming, managing tag status and tag functions. Starting the TrekView user Software: Double-click the icon on the computer’s desktop.

    Download Log icon. The icon is for downloading temperature data logs from an older generation of product. It is not needed with TrekView tags. Export CSV/Excel icon. Selecting this icon gives users the option to generate a .csv or a Microsoft Sync HHR icon.

    TrekView tags or readers will automatically download recorded temperature data. READING A TAG All TrekView Tags have the ability to connect directly to a PC without the need for a Reader (Desktop or Handheld). There are two USB options available.

    READING A TAG WITH A READER VIA PC CONNECTION To use a reader, the TrekView software must be open. Plug the cable into the port located on the Reader. Plug the other end of the cable into a USB port on your computer. The following directions can be followed for both the HHR and DTR when using a PC.

    The handheld reader (HHR) can read and store data from thousands of TrekView tags. In order to save an LDF, or export the data as a PDF report, the tag data must be transferred from the HHR into TrekView software. Transfer of tag data is done by synchronization.

    Analyzing Tag Data TrekView software provides a graphic display of a tag’s recorded data. Each tag that is downloaded during a work session will appear in the left column of the main screen. Each tag is uniquely identifi ed with a number. Click on the plus sign to the left of the tag number to view all tag data scanned in that work session.

Shades of red are representative of high excursion temperatures, shades of blue are representative of low excursion temperatures and white is representative of acceptable temperature.

Annotations are editable, and can be moved around the graph area. It is possible to have up to fi ve annotations on a graph. Make sure the graph is set with appropriate preferences prior to generating a PDF report.

Select the zoom icon, click and drag the area of the graph to zoom in on. The option to zoom back out, or to zoom in further, will become available.

In order to view more than one tag, hold down Ctrl on the keyboard and then click on the tags of interest. Below are some examples of how the software shows two tags and their data at the same time.
