Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt ist zum Einbau in einen Computer mit PCI-Express-Steckplatz vorgesehen und stellt dort
zusätzliche Schnittstellen zur Verfügung (RS232).
Dieses Produkt erfüllt die gesetzlichen, nationalen und europäischen Anforderungen. Alle enthaltenen
Firmennamen und Produktbezeichnungen sind Warenzeichen der jeweiligen Inhaber. Alle Rechte vor-
behalten.

Einbau
Falls Sie keine Fachkenntnisse für den Einbau besitzen, so lassen Sie den Einbau
von einer FACHKRAFT oder einer entsprechenden Fachwerkstatt durchführen!
Durch unsachgemäßen Einbau wird sowohl die Steckkarte als auch Ihr Computer
und alle angeschlossenen Geräte beschädigt.
Vorsicht, Lebensgefahr!
Schalten Sie den Computer, in den die Steckkarte eingebaut werden soll und alle
angeschlossenen Geräte aus und trennen Sie alle Geräte von der Netzspannung,
ziehen Sie den Netzstecker! Das Ausschalten über den Ein-/ Ausschalter genügt
nicht!
• Öffnen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers und nehmen Sie den Gehäusedeckel vorsichtig ab.
• Suchen Sie einen freien PCI-Express-Steckplatz, entfernen Sie das zugehörige Slotblech und ste-
cken Sie die Steckkarte vollständig in den Steckplatz ein. Schrauben Sie die Steckkarte fest.
Um die Steckkarte in einem flachen Computergehäuse einzubauen, liegen zwei Low-Profile-
Slotbleche bei. Entfernen Sie das lange Slotblech von der Steckkarte und montieren Sie danach die
beiden Low-Profile-Slotbleche an der Steckkarte und dem zweiten 9poligen SubD-Anschluss.
• Verschließen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers.
• Verbinden Sie Ihren Computer und Monitor wieder mit der Netzspannung und schalten Sie alle
Geräte ein.
• Startet Ihr Computer nicht korrekt, so schalten Sie ihn sofort wieder aus und kontrollieren Sie sämt-
liche Einstellungen und Kabelverbindungen.
Vor dem erneuten Öffnen des Computers ist dieser wieder von der Netzspannung zu
trennen, siehe oben!
Treiberinstallation
Windows erkennt nach dem Start neue Hardware. Legen Sie die mitgelieferte CD in das entsprechen-
de Laufwerk Ihres Computers ein.
Zum Zeitpunkt der Erstellung dieser Bedienungsanleitung war der erforderliche Treiber im Verzeichnis
„Moschip \ MCS9901" zu finden (und dort im jeweiligen Unterverzeichnis für das von Ihnen verwende-
te Betriebssystem, z.B. Windows Vista).
Danach ist ggf. ein Neustart erforderlich, bevor die RS232-Ports einwandfrei funktionieren.
Tipps und Hinweise
• Schließen Sie RS232-Geräte nur dann an, wenn der Computer und die RS232-Geräte ausgeschal-
tet sind. Andernfalls kann es in Einzelfällen dazu kommen, dass sowohl RS232-Gerät als auch die
Steckkarte beschädigt werden!
• Die Schnittstellenbezeichnung (z.B. COM3) wird von Windows automatisch vergeben.
Entsorgung
Entsorgen Sie das Produkt am Ende seiner Lebensdauer gemäß den geltenden
gesetzlichen Bestimmungen.

tional interfaces (RS232).

Installation
• Open your computer's housing and carefully remove the cover.
• Locate a free PCI Express slot, remove the corresponding slot cover and insert the card into the slot.
Screw the plug-in card firmly in place.
To install the plug-in card in a flat computer housing, two low-profile slot brackets are provided.
Remove the long slot bracket from the plug-in card and then mount the two low-profile slot brackets
on the plug-in card and the second 9-pin SUB-D connector.
• Replace the computer housing.
• Reconnect your computer and monitor to the mains voltage and switch on all the devices.
• If your computer does not start correctly, switch it off again immediately and check all the settings
and cable connections.
Driver Installation
After loading, Windows will recognise the new hardware. Place the provided CD into an appropriate
drive on your computer.
At the time of creation of this manual the required driver was to be found in the folder
„Moschip\MCS9901" (in the respective operating system folder, such as, for example, Windows Vista).
It might be necessary to restart your computer, before the RS232 ports work faultlessly.
Tips and Instructions
• Only connect RS232 devices when the computer and the RS232 devices are switched off.
Otherwise, in some cases, the RS232 device as well as the plug-in card might be damaged!
• The interface name (e.g. COM3) is assigned automatically by Windows.

or a specialist workshop and let them carry out the installation!
Incorrect installation can cause damage to the plug-in card and also to your com-
puter and all connected devices.
Caution, Danger!
Switch off the computer in which the plug-in card is to be installed, and all connect-
ed devices, and disconnect all devices from the mains voltage, remove the plug
from the mains! Just turning off at the on/off switch is not enough!
Before opening the PC again, disconnect the PC from the mains voltage, see above!
Please dispose of the device when it is no longer of use, according to the current statu-
tory requirements.
