    Information on the Operating Manual This Operating Manual contains important infor- mation on the operation, maintenance and hand- ling of the caravan equipment. The many practical tips are intended to make it easier for you to use your caravan safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.

    Operation Hitching and unhitching the caravan Prior to hitching or unhitching the caravan: – For hitching and unhitching operations, stabilis- ing handle (1) must be open in the uppermost position. – Pull stabilising handle (1) upwards as far as it will go (open) otherwise hitching and unhitching is difficult.

    Setting up the caravan When choosing a place to set up the caravan, please note the following points: – The ground surface should be as even and firm as possible. – Avoid wept, muddy places. – The parking space should not slope too much.     12V operation 12V operation is possible only during a journey, when the engine of the towing vehicle is running. – Switch off gas operation if appropriate. – Switch on toggle switch (1). Toggle switch will turn red. Note During a journey the refrigerator should only be operated with 12V current and not with gas.

Temperature control In 12V operation it is not possible to control the temperature. The refrigerator operates non-stop. With 230V operation it is sufficient to set the control knob (3) to 3-5.

    Gas cooker Warning! Danger of accident! – Open the hinged and roof windows during cooking. – The cooker flames must not be used for heating purposes. – Due to the consumption of oxygen by the flames, if the caravan is insufficiently ventilated a lack of oxygen may develop.

    Water supply The fresh water supply can come either from the fresh water tank or from a town water supply connection, which is an accessory. Warning! Health hazard! – Only use fresh water from the public water supply, not from springs or rivers (due to the risk of impurities or residue).

  • Page 35 Vehicle care Interior Fabric upholstery – Fabric upholstery can be treated with special detergents or with dry foam and a brush (de- pending on the type of material). Curtains – The curtains must be dry cleaned. They should not be washed as this could cause them to shrink.
  • Page 36 Ventilation – In winter it is particularly important to ventilate and air out the caravan. High air humidity caused by inhaled air, cooking fumes, snow brought into the caravan and wet clothing must be able to escape. – Therefore you should always keep the roof lights open.

    Driving hints Drive safely When driving with your caravan, there are certain special rules that must be followed: – While the vehicle is in motion, no one should be in the caravan. – Before setting off on a journey, close all gas shut-off valves apart from the appliances that consume gas and are allowed to be used while the vehicle is moving.
  • Page 38 Braking performance – Braking performance is quite different in a vehicle towing a trailer compared with an ordi- nary single vehicle. For this reason it is a good idea, especially for drivers not used to towing a trailer, to practise using the brakes in an appro- priate location.
  • Page 39 Changes to the caravan No changes may be made to the caravan. This applies especially to parts of the chassis and type-approved vehicle parts. Laying up the caravan temporarily If you wish to lay up your caravan temporarily (e.g. during the winter months), a few special points must be noted.

Travel tips Travel preparations A major advantage of your caravan is the fact that you can decide when to travel and where to at short notice and spontaneously change your plans again as you please.
