Prerequisite
Before you start, read Appendix A "Important safety information" on page 73 and print the following
instructions.
Notes:
• The images provided are for reference only. The PCI-Express card and the holder included with your
computer may differ in size and appearance.
• Follow the same procedures for all models.
The PCI-Express card might be very hot. Before you open the computer cover, turn off the computer and
wait several minutes until the computer is cool.
Replacement procedure
1. Remove the power cord. See "Power cord" on page 26.
2. Remove the left side cover. See "Left side cover" on page 27.
3. Disconnect the power cable from the PCI-Express card.
4. Remove the thumbscrew from the latch.
