If your refrigerator is not working, check the following:
Initially, you should set the temperature control dial to 4. Allow 24 hours to pass before adjusting the temperature to your specific needs. The dial has 7 settings, with 1 being the warmest and 7 being the coldest.
If your refrigerator is not cooling or freezing properly, check the following:
For maximum energy efficiency, defrost the freezer section whenever frost accumulates to a thickness of 1/4" or more on the freezer walls. Frost tends to accumulate more during the summer months.
To clean the interior and exterior:
For maximum energy efficiency, defrost the freezer section whenever frost accumulates to a thickness of 1/4" or more on the freezer walls. Frost tends to accumulate more during summer months.
After a power outage, when power has been restored, replug the power cord to the AC outlet. If the outage was prolonged, inspect and discard spoiled or thawed food in the freezer and refrigerator, and clean the refrigerator before reusing.
During the defrosting process, water will accumulate inside. You should use a towel to wipe off excess dripping water and not leave it unattended.
You can set the temperature using the temperature control dial. The dial has 7 settings plus 0, where 1 is the warmest and 7 is the coldest. Turning the dial to 0 stops cooling in both the refrigeration and freezer sections. It is recommended to initially set the dial to 4 and allow 24 hours before adjusting it further.
If food is freezing in the refrigerator compartment, it indicates the temperature control setting is too cold. You should adjust it to a warmer setting and allow several hours for the temperature to adjust.
It may be normal for your refrigerator to run frequently to maintain a constant temperature during high temperatures and humid days. Other reasons for frequent running include frequent or prolonged door openings, improper gasket seal, or doors not being completely closed.
To manually defrost your refrigerator, first remove food and ice cube tray from the freezer section. Then, turn the temperature control dial to "0" position. Defrosting may take a few hours. To speed up the process, keep the door open and place a bowl of warm water in the freezer. During defrosting, water will accumulate, so use a towel to wipe off excess dripping water and do not leave it unattended. After defrosting, empty and wipe down the interior of the freezer. You can then reset your refrigerator to the desired temperature and return food.
Your refrigerator may run frequently to maintain a constant temperature during high temperatures and humid days. This can also occur if doors have been opened frequently or for an extended period, if the gasket needs checking for proper seal, or if doors are not completely closed.
If the interior light is not working, check the following:
Your refrigerator has two leveling legs located in the front bottom corners. You can adjust them by turning them counterclockwise to raise your refrigerator or clockwise to lower it. Extending the leveling legs will make the refrigerator door close easier.
If the refrigerator has been placed in a horizontal or tilted position for any period of time, wait 24 hours before plugging the unit in. After placing and leveling the refrigerator, set the temperature control dial to 4 initially and allow 24 hours to pass before adjusting it to your needs.
To remove the light bulb cover, gently pull out the clear cover.
To remove a full-width slide-out shelf, gently tilt the shelf up and slide it forward until it has been completely removed.
