  • Page 5 (muscle cells). In a similar way, Tua Face Fitness conveys special low-voltage micro-currents to the facial muscles and tissues via the patented electrode wand. These micro-currents, which are con- trolled and absolutely safe, cause passive contraction of the muscles fibres, particularly at the less-used level, and increase the blood circulation to the treated area.

  • Page 7: Benefits Of Electrostimulation

BENEFITS OF ELECTROSTIMULATION • Selective stimulation of muscle group. By positioning the electrodes correctly on the different muscles, a specific stimulation can be achieved on the selected muscle, reducing the activity of the adjacent muscle to a minimum. This is unlike what happens in the case of voluntary ‘manual’ contraction, where the muscles always work according to specific muscle chains and synergies.

PRECAUTIONS - The sponge contacts must always be well moistened with tap water and kept in good contact with the skin; do not use other substances. If they are not adequately moistened, they tend to insulate the pulses and not conduct them. - The steel electrodes must never come into direct contact with the skin.
  • Page 9 CONTRAINDICATIONS Facial skin stimulators should not be used on patients with cardiac demand pacemakers and other con- ditions described below: − Pathological facial conditions − Pacemakers − Metal pins and plates − Weak psycho-physical condition − Broken or bruised skin −...

  • Page 14 FACE PROGRAMS Tua Face Fitness has 5 workout programs, each with specific frequencies and contraction/ recovery times for the facial area concerned. Program 1 Position on the cheek bone area as far as the area in front of the ear.
  • Page 15 Program 3 Position on the temporal region and the forehead in general. Program 4 Position on the chin and all around the mandibular arch (lower jaw bone). The same program is also used to work out the neck muscles and lower lip. Program 5 Position on the under eye area and on under eye bags.
  • Page 16: Content Of Face Programs

CONTENT OF FACE PROGRAMS Tua Face Fitness has five face programs which work out five different facial zones, including the neck. The duration of each exercise is 120 seconds, that is, 2 minutes. This is the perfect time to allow for facial wand placement, micro-current intensity selection and workout time to the area.
  • Page 17 next program (2 lower cheek) and indicates this transition by means of an intermittent beep. You can treat one whole side of your face first before repeating all the programs to the other side, or, after each program has finished you can go back and repeat that program to the other side, treating both sides of your face as you go along.

Selecting the desired program Tua Face Fitness features 5 workout programs covering different treatment areas of the face and neck. These are selected by means of the right arrow key (forward movement) or the left arrow key (backwards movement).

The clock icon flashes to indicate you are now in workout mode. Setting the intensity The intensity of the micro-current stimulation, ex- pressed in milliamperes (mA), is indicated on the right of the display screen to the right of the face...
  • Page 22 In the example, left, the intensity is set at 20 milliamperes. The progress of the treatment time is indicated by the flashing clock icon and that of the minutes symbol (02). Each program (with the exception of treating the lower lip area) is conducted to both sides of the face.

  • Page 24: Using The Facial Wand

USING THE FACIAL WAND Tua Face Fitness uses a special facial wand consisting of 2 sprung electrodes adjustable in eve- ry direction so that they can adapt to every face conformation. The stainless-steel electrodes are covered by special cellulose sponges which are hand-washable. Before treatment and at the start of each program, moisten the sponges thoroughly by using 12 drops of water using the provided water dispenser bottle (provided).

If correctly used, battery life expectations are around 300 charge/discharge cycles. For safety reasons, during battery recharging, Tua Face Fitness is deactivated. If Tua Face Fitness is not used for long periods of time, remove the batteries from the device. REPLACING THE BATTERIES...
  • Page 27: Cleaning The Device

Do not use alcohol, thinners, solvents or other chemical products. CLEANING & REPLACING THE SPONGES (facial wand) To ensure that Tua Face Fitness works effectively, the sponges should always be well soaked in water before every treatment. If they are not completely moistened, they tend to isolate the impulses rather than conduct them.

  • Page 32: Cheek Bone Area

1 • FACE APPLICATIONS CHEEK BONE AREA (POSITIONING OF ELECTRODES) Position the wand vertically, just above the corner of the mouth, as shown in the photo; during operation, the wand can be moved along the entire cheek bone and just skim the edge of the under eye area.
  • Page 33 1 • CHEEK BONE AREA cont’d For a second exercise, position the wand obliquely at the corner of the mouth to the cheek bone; this can be moved as far as the ear for a complete stimulation of the lower part of the cheek bone, skimming the cheek. A slight stretching will occur at the corner of the mouth as it is exercised upward and outward due to the muscle contraction.
  • Page 34: Lower Cheek Area

2 • LOWER CHEEK (JOWL) AREA In this exercise, the wand should be positioned obliquely, near the corner of the jaw (where your jaw bone ‘turns a corner’ before reaching the ear). During treatment, the wand can be moved as far as the ear, following the shape of the face, for a complete exercise on the entire lower cheek area.
  • Page 35 2 • LOWER CHEEK (JOWL) AREA cont’d The stimulation of this area tones the cheek and gives the face a relaxed expression, as if slightly smiling, increasing the volume of the upper lip and combating the appearance of vertical wrinkles typical of aging.
  • Page 36: Forehead Area (Including Advanced Exercise)

3 • FOREHEAD AREA The wand should rest on the temporal region, with the two electrodes located obliquely between the hair line and the edge of the eyebrow, slightly above the latter. During the exercise, the wand can slide across the remainder of the forehead in order to treat the whole area.
  • Page 37 3 • FOREHEAD AREA cont’d Be mindful of the intensity of the stimulation. The forehead muscles are, in fact, very thin and delicate. Consequently, lower the inten- sity slightly if necessary. Stimulation of the forehead muscles helps reduce expression wrinkles and raises the eyebrows, increasing the space between the eyelashes and brows, which opens up the eyes in a youthful way.

  • Page 39 This exercise helps to plump up the appearance of the lower lip and increase its volume while you are using Tua Face Fitness. It helps to pre- vent atrophy (shrinkage) of the lower lip muscle which typically results in thinning...
  • Page 40 4 • CHIN – LOWER LIP, JAW LINE & NECK 4.2 Jaw Line area: Position the wand on the lower jaw, between the corner of the jaw (where your jaw bone ‘turns a corner’ before reaching the ear) and the apex (point of your chin), following the conformation.
  • Page 41 4 • CHIN – LOWER LIP, JAW LINE & NECK 4.3 Neck area: The wand should be positioned vertically. During the exercise, the wand can slide in this position to extend the work to the entire area. This exercise works to strengthen and firm the muscles in the neck and under the chin that lose their elasticity over time.
  • Page 42: Under Eye Area

5 • UNDER EYE AREA This application is dedicated to the eye area. The wand should be positioned horizontally just beneath the thin skin of the under eye area, at the very top of the cheek. The lower lid and eye bag are contracted without lowering.
  • Page 43 5 • UNDER EYE AREA cont’d You can treat one whole side of your face first before repeating all the programs to the other side, or, after each program has finished you can go back and repeat that program to the other side, treating both sides of your face as you go along.
