MFJ-263 Dummy Load
The MFJ-263 Dummy Load is a very wide frequency range air-cooled dry load. This dry
dummy load uses a large air-cooled heatsink. It does not use hazardous messy oil or other
bothersome liquid coolants. The MFJ-263 is capable of handling up to 300 watts carrier
or short term average power for brief periods of time. The de-rating curve in this manual
also conveniently appears on the dummy load bottom.
Operation
1. To prevent damaging or overheating the resistor, please familiarize yourself with the
power de-rating curve.
2. The input connector is a standard 50-ohm "N" style female connector. Your cable
must use a 50-ohm type N male.
3. Allow at least 2 minutes with a fan (not included) and 10 minutes without a fan or
forced air cooling when operating the dummy load at its maximum duty cycle ratings.
NOTE: If ratings are exceeded the load resistor may be permanently damaged.
Load surfaces may become hot. Allow the load to cool before touching it.
