Notes on Connecting Android device
y This unit can support only MTP (Media Transfer
Protocol) Android (4.0 or later is recommended)
devices.
y Do not extract Android device during operation
(play, etc.).
y Video, audio and photo files can be played. For
details of playing each file type, refer to the
relevant pages.
y Regular back up is recommended to prevent
data loss.
y If you use a USB extension cable, USB HUB or
USB Multi-reader, Android device may not be
recognized.
y Some Android devices may not work with this
unit.
y When you use MTP, playing some music, photo,
movie, or subtitle files may not work depending
on Android device.
Playing a file on a network
server

This player can play video, audio and photo files
located in a DLNA-compatible digital media server
through your home network.
1. Check the network connection and settings
(page 15).
2. Press HOME ( ).
3. Select [Movie], [Photo] or [Music] using A/D,
and press S.
4. Select DLNA media server in the category using
A/D and press ENTER (b).
5. Select a file using W/S/A/D, and press d
(PLAY) or ENTER (b) to play the file.

y The file requirements are described on page
50.
y The thumbnail of the unplayable files can
be displayed, but those cannot be played
on this player.
y The subtitle file name and video file name
have to be the same and located at the
same folder.
y The playback and operating quality may be
affected by your home network condition.
y You may experience connection problems
depending on your server's environment.
y To set your PC as a DLNA-compatible digital
media server, install the SmartShare PC
Software on your PC. (page 30)
