Settings
• P rivacy settings: Change the settings for allowing apps to use your private information.
• R eport diagnostic info: Set the device to automatically send the device's diagnostic and
usage information to Samsung.
• A ds: View or manage your advertising ID.
• P anic mode: The device will make an emergency call when you press the Power key
three times. When you activate the SOS message feature, you can set the device to
send help messages by pressing the Power key three times. You can also send sound
recordings along with the message to the recipients. Refer to
more information.
• T his feature may be labelled differently depending on the region or service
provider.
• M aking an emergency call may not be available depending on the region or
service provider.
• F ind My Mobile: Activate or deactivate the Find My Mobile feature. Access the Find my
mobile website (findmymobile.samsung.com) to track and control your lost or stolen
device.
• S how password: Set the device to display passwords as they are entered.
• S IM card lock: Activate or deactivate the PIN lock feature to require the PIN before using
the device.
• S ecurity update service: Set the device to check and download security updates.
• S ecure erase: Permanently delete all deleted data on the device for increased security.
• E ncrypt SD card: Set the device to encrypt files on a memory card.
If you reset your device to the factory defaults with this setting enabled, the device
will not be able to read your encrypted files. Disable this setting before resetting the
device.
Private mode
Hide personal content in your device to prevent others from accessing it.
Activating private mode

On the Settings screen, tap Privacy and security → Private mode, and then tap the
Private mode switch to activate it.
If you are activating private mode for the first time, follow the on-screen instructions to
set up a private mode access code.
