Code Requirements - Installation Codes Installations must comply with local building codes, or in their absence, the latest edition of the national regulations and procedures as listed below. - Gas Codes Heaters must be installed only for use with the type of gas appearing on the rating plate. The installation must conform with local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54 in the US, Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code, CSA B149.1, or Propane Storage and Handling Code B149.2 in Canada. -
