    Safety instructions for hedge trimmers • The hedge trimmer must not be used by children or by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capability or lack of experience and knowledge which could jeopardise their safety. • Keep all parts of your body away from the cutting blades. Do not remove cut material or hold material to be cut when the blades are moving.

    Please note part numbers 11,12,13,14 & 15 above are not supplied with this unit. Charging the battery • Plug the DC connector of the mains charger into the 9 V charger socket (7). • Make sure that the mains voltage is the same as that stated on the rating plate of the charger.
  • Page 5 Note: • The lithium-ion battery has a built-in electronic deep discharge protection which prevents partial power from being delivered. Full power is provided at all times until the electronic protection engages, turning off the trimmer and signifying that the battery needs to be recharged. The tool will then switch off automatically.
  • Page 6 Operating instructions Pre-start inspection routine • Check that the cutter is securely attached. • Check that the multi trimmer appears intact and undamaged; it must not be used if it is damaged in any way. • Check that both the safety lock (5, 15) and power switch (6, 14) press in and release easily, and do not catch or function abnormally in any other way.

    Switching on and off 1. Remove the blade guard from the cutter and lubricate the blades with oil if they look dry. 2. Hold both the safety lock (5, 15) and the power switch (6, 14) pressed in. The multi trimmer will start. Note: Both the safety lock and power switch must be held in to keep the motor in continuous operation.

    Troubleshooting guide: The trimmer does not start. • The battery is discharged. • Make sure that you have fully depressed both the safety lock (5, 15) and power switch (6, 14). The cutters become hot. • Lubricate the blades and have them sharpened if necessary. Poor battery operating time.
