Zu Ihrer Sicherheit
Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Die Geräte sind ausschließlich zum Einsatz im industri-
ellen Bereich bestimmt.
Der Modulträger MT16-2G/MSA dient zur Aufnahme
folgender excom-Komponenten:

■
2 Netzteile
■
Max. 16 I/O-Module
Die Geräte dürfen nur innerhalb des excom-I/O-Sys-
tems betrieben werden. Der Modulträger ist in einer
kombinierten Ex-Schutzart Ex e und Ex i ausgeführt
und für den Betrieb in Zone 1 geeignet. Über die I/O-
Module lassen sich bis zu 128 digitale oder 64 analoge
Ein-/Ausgänge sowie Mischformen anschließen. Mit
dem Modulträger lassen sich Netzteile und Gateways
redundant betreiben. Der Modulträger ist für mariti-
me Anwendungen geeignet.
Die Geräte dürfen nur wie in dieser Anleitung
beschrieben verwendet werden. Jede andere
Verwendung gilt als nicht bestimmungsgemäß. Für
daraus resultierende Schäden übernimmt Turck keine
Haftung.

Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise
■
Nur fachlich geschultes Personal darf das Gerät
montieren, installieren, betreiben, parametrieren
und instand halten.
■
Die Geräte erfüllen ausschließlich die EMV-Anforde-
rungen für den industriellen Bereich und sind nicht
für den Einsatz in Wohngebieten geeignet.
■
Nur Geräte miteinander kombinieren, die durch
ihre technischen Daten für den gemeinsamen
Einsatz geeignet sind.
Hinweise zum Ex-Schutz
■
Bei Einsatz des Gerätes in Ex-Kreisen muss der An-
wender über Kenntnisse im Explosionsschutz
(IEC/EN 60079-14 etc.) verfügen.
■
Nationale und internationale Vorschriften für den

Explosionsschutz beachten.
■
Das Gerät nur innerhalb der zulässigen Betriebs-
und Umgebungsbedingungen (siehe Technische
Daten) einsetzen.
■
Nicht genutzte Steckplätze auf dem Modulträger
mit Blindmodulen (BM1) bestücken.
■
Wenn nur ein Netzteil verwendet wird: Freien
Steckplatz mit der Netzteilabdeckung BM-PS
bestücken.
Bei Einsatz in Zone 1 und Zone 2:
■
Gerät in ein separat zugelassenes Gehäuse nach

IEC/EN 60079-0 mit einer Schutzart mind. IP54 nach
EN 60529 montieren.
Bei Einsatz im sicheren Bereich:
■
Wird Verschmutzungsgrad 2 nicht eingehalten,
Gerät in ein Schutzgehäuse mind. IP54 einbauen.

Funktionen und Betriebsarten
Die Modulträger bestehen aus einer Rückwandplatine
(Backplane) und dem Trägersystem. Das Trägersystem
ist für erhöhte Stabilität und Abschirmung aus einem
Aluminium-Strangpressprofil gefertigt. Über die
Backplane werden die angeschlossenen I/O-Module
mit Energie versorgt. Der Datenverkehr zwischen
I/O-Modulen und Gateways wird über den internen
Rückwandbus der Backplane abgewickelt.
Montieren

Bei Einsatz im Ex-Bereich
Montage und Anschluss nur durchführen, wenn

keine explosionsfähige Atmosphäre vorliegt,
oder im spannungslosen Zustand.
Gerät in ein Ex e-Gehäuse nach IEC/EN 60079-

0 mit einer Schutzart von mindestens IP54
montieren.
Das Gerät ist zur Wandmontage geeignet und darf
ausschließlich horizontal montiert werden.
Gerät über die vorgesehenen Bohrlöcher (Ø 7 mm)

mit M6-Schrauben oder M6-Bolzen montieren.
Bei Montage in ein Edelstahlgehäuse (EG-VA...):
➤
Zur Montage Gleitmuttern Typ GM306, Gewin-
destifte Typ GS406 und M6-Schraubmuttern gemäß
DIN 934 verwenden.
Netzteile befestigen
Vor Montage der Netzteile die Versorgungsspannung
anschließen (siehe Anschließen).
Die Befestigungsbügel zur mechanischen Verstärkung
der 24-VDC-Netzteile PSD24Ex sind im Lieferumfang
enthalten.
Netzteile montieren (Reihenfolge der Schrauben
