EXHAUST INSTALLATION SHEET
WHEN INSTALLING THIS EXHAUST SYSTEM MAKE SURE TO USE PROPER
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS. USE JACK STANDS WHEN UNDER TRUCK, ALONG
WITH SAFETY GLASSES. DO NOT WORK WITH HOT PIPES!
15 MM. SOCKET, 9/16 SOCKET, HACKSAW, JACKSTAND
1. Lay out the GIBSON EXHAUST SYSTEM on the floor so it looks like the drawing. Compare manual
part numbers with the part.
. Remove stock exhaust

from behind the catalytic
converter. For easier removal
cut overaxle just behind the
muffler. Use jack stands to
support the converter. You
will want to keep the
converter supported so it
wont drop.
3. Install headpipe # A. SHORT
BEDS: You may need to cut head
pipe # A to length on short bed
models. Use clamp # F to attach
head pipe to factory connector
pipe. Install hanger # I at the rear
of the head pipe using supplied
nuts and bolts. Do not tighten.
4. Slide muffler # B with inside
louvers facing towards the
converter. Use a jack stand to
support the muffler. Install
hanger # G on the muffler outlet.
The long portion of the hanger
will be pointing towards the
driver side. Now, install rear
hanger # H with hanger bolts
facing towards the passenger
side. Install over axle pipe
# C into the outlet of muffler no
less than 1 ½" and no more than
2". Do not tighten hangers.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A 1" CLEARANCE ON ALL PIPES
FROM ALL FUEL & BRAKE LINES, SHOCK BOOTS, TIRES, ETC.
SUGGESTED TOOLS:
5. Slide turn out
pipe # D on the
tailpipe behind the
rear tire. Roll
turnout pipe until
you have it at the
correct angle for
your truck and
clamp # H. Spare
tire may need to be
loosened and
pushed to the rear
to allow for
clearance.
6. Install stainless
steel tip, Clamp down.
To clean stainless tip
use any stainless steel
or aluminum cleaner.
When you have
everything in place,
make sure you have a
1" clearance on all
pipes from all rubber
brake lines, shock
boots, tires, etc.
Tighten all bolts and
clamp down.
