There is a danger of electric shock or electrocution. The term “power tool” in this manual refers to the V20L2RS0K1 Cordless Recipocating Saw, Battery and Charger.
GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY, USE AND CARE Work area safety Visibility is key -- keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents. Proper protective gear (safety goggles/glasses, etc.) is required when using this tool. Do not operate in the presence of flammable liquids, gasses, or dust. The operation of power tools creates sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes, creating a potentially explosive atmosphere.

General Power tool use and care Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.

SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS for Lithium‐Ion Battery Packs o Always charge the battery when the temperature is between 18-24°C (32°F to 113°F). Do not charge the battery pack when the temperature is below 0°C (32°F), or above 40°C (113°F) This is important. Failure to observe this safety rule could cause serious damage to the battery pack. o The battery is to be disposed of safely.

Before using the charger, read all the instructions and cautionary markings on the charger and battery pack as well as the instructions on the battery pack. This model V20L0CH2B1 charger and VETERAN TOOL battery models V20L0BP2B1, V20L0BP4B1 and V20L0BP5B1 are specifically designed to work together. Do not attempt to charge the battery pack with any other charger than the one supplied or attempt to use this charger to charge other batteries.

SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR V20L2RS0K1 CORDLESS RECIPOCATING SAW Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring. Cutting accessory contacting a “live” wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool “live” and could give the operator an electric shock.
BEFORE USING THE EQUIPMENT Remove any packing material and loose parts from unit. Check the accessories before use. They should fit with the machine and your purpose. If the battery is new it should be fully charged before use. Batteries are shipped with only a partial charge. NOTE: Extended periods of storage without charge/discharge cycles will reduce the battery capacity.
REPLACING/INSERTING THE SAW BLADE (Fig.3) Remove the battery from the socket before carrying out any adjustment, servicing or maintenance. When mounting the saw blade, wear protective gloves. Danger of injury when touching the saw blade. When changing the saw blade, take care that the saw blade holder is free of material residue, e.
Fig.4 If you need to reduce the cutting capacity of your tool (depth of cut), the pivoting foot plate may be adjusted as follows. Loosen the two securing screws on the underside of the front housing with a hex key. Slide the pivoting blade foot to the required position. Tighten both screws and check that the blade foot is firmly latched.
Wood cutting For easier control use low speed to start cutting, then increase to the correct speed. Metal cutting This saw has different metal cutting capacities depending upon the type of blade being used and metal being cut. Use a finer blade for ferrous metals and a coarse blade for non- ferrous metals.
