Pump suction filter

Assembly / Installation
INTRODUCTION
Pump suction filters maintain a natural balance, clear
water, and healthy fish and plants in your pond.
Pond pollutants can accumulate at the bottom of the
pond. The pollutants dissolve into the pond water, pro-
ducing harmful toxic by-products. These by-products will
affect fish health and cause cloudy water. The pump suc-
tion filter has been specifically designed to remove harm-
ful pollutants by converting them into harmless gases
which will evaporate into the atmosphere. No chemical
additives are required.
How it works
As pond water enters the filter, it flows in and around the
®
patented Flocor
filter media. This filter media is
designed to offer a large surface area for the colonization
of "friendly" bacteria that will consume harmful toxins in
the water. Water clarity is increased because the filter
removes the nutrients that algae and blanketweed thrive
on.
ASSEMBLY
The pump suction filter is designed to connect to the
intake of any Sears water garden pump. Remove the
existing inlet filter housing and sponge that was original-
ly supplied with your pump before installing the extra
capacity inlet filter. This is accomplished by gently twist-
ing the existing inlet filter housing clockwise and pulling
outward at the same time.
The pump suction filter is connected to the inlet of the
pump with the hose supplied. An adapter is also sup-
plied for connection to some models of pumps (Table 1).
On smaller pumps the adapter fits over the outside of the
pump inlet and on larger pumps the adapter fits inside of
the pump inlet.
For one year from the date of purchase, Sears will replace this filter, free of charge, if defective in material
