Condensate drain Special attention must be paid to the condensate drain; an incorrectly installed drain, in fact, could jeopardize the correct operation of the equipment. The factors to be taken into account are: risk of condensation build-up inside the heat exchanger; • • risk of condensation water freezing in the pipes; risk of flue gas discharged from the condensate drain. • Build up of condensation in the heat exchanger During normal operation, condensate must not be allowed to accumulate within the heat exchanger.
