How to change your code number

Your lock has been pre-programmed with a five-digit access code. This
section tells you how this code may be changed.
You will also have been supplied with spare tumblers; these may be used to
reduce the code to four digits or to increase it to six or seven digits.
Also supplied is a pair of tweezers for removing the tumblers. Make sure these
are ready to hand.
1. Remove the lock from the door.
2. Remove the 4 R R E E D D retaining screws from the back of the 'Outside Lock
Body'. Take E E X X T T R R A A care to keep the lock body on a flat surface, when you are
removing the plate, because there are a lot of small components inside.
3. You will now see that there are 5 R R E E D D coloured code tumblers and 8 B B L L U U E E
coloured non-code tumblers plus 1 C C L L E E A A R R tumbler ('C' button).
4. To change your code, push the 'C C ' button down and hold it. You can then
easily remove one or more of your code and non-code tumblers, using the
tweezers provided or needlenose pliers. Your code will always start with
the 'C' button (this cancels any wrong entries) plus 3 to 7 buttons of your
choice, both numbers and letters. Y Y o o u u s s h h o o u u l l d d N N E E V V E E R R r r e e m m o o v v e e t t h h e e ' ' C C ' '

5. Please note the different shapes of tumbler, before re-inserting them into
the lock body. Firstly, there is a difference in shape between the code and
non-code tumblers, and Secondly, when refitting the tumblers into the
lock body, they must be fitted facing the right way (See Fig. 8).
6. With the spare tumblers you can change your code to 'C C ' + anything from
3 to 7 digits. After you have refitted the tumblers and made a note of the
new code, make sure you replace the metal plate with the 4 screws.

Solution
All locks were set to suit right handed doors. So
the lock needs to be removed from the door and
reversed. Refer to instructions.
Remove the lock from the door, and re-position the
spindle as shown in the instructions.
Consult 'How to change your code number'
instruction and check that the red tumblers are all
facing with the square notches outwards.
Check (A) the lock is square on the door and
positioned accurately over the latch. (B) That the
latch is positioned horizontally and parallel to door
surfaces. (C) The spindle may be trapped between
the front and backplate if the spindle is too long.
If the spindle is too short then it will not engage
with both the outside knob and the inside handle
at the same time, or it may slip out of one side after
same use.
