following operating and maintenance instructions are provided to assist in obtaining the best possible performance for this unit.

turn shut off valve should not be used with the Apollo. If any other type of shut off valve is used,

it must be opened and closed slowly. Opening and closing a valve too quickly may result in damage to
the Apollo and other equipment, which can result in an injury to the operator or others.
Read and follow the Safety Chain Warning Tag located on the Ground Mount Tag.
Read and follow the vertical Safety Stop Plunger Pin Caution Tag.
Under freezing conditions the monitor must be drained to prevent damage.
Read and follow the Tip Pressure Tag located on the Portable Ground Base.
Read and follow the Set Up Instruction Tag located on Inlet Body.
Incorrect hose layout may cause instability.
Do Not use with an upper deck extension pipe (Style 3405)

- Page 2 Figure 1 Inlet connector Tabs Locking Pins Truck Flange connection ears GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS 1. Installation For On Truck Operation: A. Connect the Apollo PE to the truck mount flange by placing the inlet connector tabs between the truck mount flange connection ears (Figure 1).
- Page 3 2. INSTALLATION FOR GROUND OPERATION: To prepare the Apollo PE for ground based operations perform the following steps: A. Turn control power switch to the “OFF”(down) position. (Figure 2) B. Disconnect vehicle power cable from truck power input connector. (Figure 2) C.
- Page 4 – PAUSE/ RESUME” switch. The monitor will now oscillate between the left and right limits you have set. To adjust the oscillation limits, press and hold the “OSCILLATION START/SET – PAUSE/RESUME” switch upwared when moving in the direction in which you wish to change the limit and release the “OSCILLATION START/SET – PAUSE/RESUME” switch when the new limit is reached.

- Page 6 Check both the inlet clappers (dual inlet base only) function properly. Lubrication is not normally required in this area. Check that the latch of the safety chain hook engages properly in the chain. If any of the parts do not function properly, contact Akron Brass for repair instructions or return the unit to the Akron Brass Company.
