To scan between two frequencies on the RADTEL RT-880 radio, use the scan mode feature. You can set the scan mode to one of the following:

- TO (Time Operation): The radio pauses scanning when it detects a signal and resumes after about 5 seconds, even if the signal remains.
- CO (Carrier Operation): The radio pauses scanning when a signal is detected and stays on that frequency until the signal disappears (with a 2-second delay before resuming).
- SE (Search Operation): This is another scan mode, though specific behavior is not detailed.

To start scanning, press the appropriate key (such as PF2 or PF3) programmed for scan, or access it through the menu.

I need to setup channel to use repeater. You don't mention CTSS in your manual. You must call it something else. I downloaded software. Manual does not mention repeaters. Sent email asking how to add CTSS info. You sent me an mp4 file with no sound and it was about adding a channel frequency. That doesn't help. I need to know how to enter repeater privacy tones. What is "ENC" and "DEC" and other terms nobody else uses? Please read my question or get someone to help you understand the question.

To enter repeater privacy tones on the RADTEL RT-490:

1. Use menu item R-CTCSS (Menu #4) to set a receive CTCSS tone.
- Options range from 67.0 Hz to 254.1 Hz.
- If set to OFF, no CTCSS is required.
- If a station does not transmit the selected CTCSS tone, the speaker remains muted.

2. Use menu item TONE (Menu #37) to select a tone burst (e.g., 1000Hz, 1450Hz, 1750Hz, 2100Hz) for repeater access.
- This tone can be sent by holding [PTT] and pressing [PF2].

"ENC" refers to Encode – the CTCSS or DCS tone your radio sends when transmitting.

"DEC" refers to Decode – the CTCSS or DCS tone your radio listens for when receiving.

Set both to match the repeater’s tone settings to enable proper communication.
