Dual Band ICS Repeater User Manual loss between the antennas needs to be at least 15dB above the DL gain value used by the repeater. The R8XDLI series repeater is also known as the ICS repeater. Therefore, the Isolation requirement is different from normal RF repeaters. For the normal RF repeaters the Isolation value needs to be at least 15dB above the gain value.
Page 21
Dual Band ICS Repeater User Manual The repeater has the Isolation detection function, please refer to section 4.2.4.2 Theoretical calculation (for reference only) The physical isolation between the donor and service antennas can be theoretically estimated using the following formulas. Vertical Isolation: I(dB) = 28 + 40 log(D/λ) Horizontal Isolation: I(dB) = 22 + 20 log(D/λ) –...
Dual Band ICS Repeater User Manual Figure 7 A relatively strong transmitting power from the signal generator is recommended (excess of 25dBm) for easy recognition and detection by the spectrum analyzer. For example, signal generator sends out a signal 859MHz with 25dBm power level. The signal scanned by the spectrum analyzer = –70dBm.
Dual Band ICS Repeater User Manual When the PA shuts down, it can be switched on via either local connection or remote connection (via repeater connection software). When the PA is switched on, the isolation value would be measured again. The isolation measurement is based on the repeater gain, and there may be a 1 to 3dB difference, in order to compensate this difference, the Intelligent Mode would be activated when the isolation value equals to Repeater gain –...
