Preparation
Most "Y" model machines will use a reader with slanted mounting bracket
de-signed to work with the angled console on the rear control area of the
machine. In the case of front-control or stacked units, the appropriate reader
will have a flat bracket installed for correct alignment of the card reader.
In addition to the card reader, the kit should also contain the MDC wiring
harness and, small "Reader Present Jumper", and all required mounting
hardware. Although there are significant differences between the washer and
dryer control boards, the connectors on the board and installation
components are the same.
Please note that without the Reader Present Jumper the machine's control
board will not recognize the card reader and will fail to operate. This is true
for all varieties of MDC equipment.
Installation

Open the backsplash on the
machine by removing the two
screws on the top of the panel.

Lower the panel and locate
the four mounting studs near
the right side of the panel.
