Stopping the vacuum pump Close the (external) vacuum valve and let the pump run for a minimum of 45 minutes after the freeze-drying has ended. This is to avoid any possible condensates remaining in the pump oil. If the freeze dryer is used regularly during the week, it is recommended that the vacuum pump runs constantly with gas ballast valve open and the vacuum valve closed.
