INSTALLATION & REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR
DISC IN ULTRA
1. Remove the punch and stripper from the punch guide assembly (refer to small cutaway views):
To remove the
punch, simply
unscrew the
drawbolt.
2. Place the punch guide assembly into a suitable retaining fixture, such as Mate's C-E Station Torque Stand Assembly (P/N
MATE00083). A bench vise is NOT considered to be a suitable retaining fixture, due to considerable risk of damaging the
guide body.
3. Use the appropriate hex key (see below) to sequentially loosen the four socket head cap screws that retain the punch
head. Loosen each screw no more than one turn at a time, until all of the pressure from the disc springs has been
relieved. Avoid using worn or damaged hex keys to prevent the hex openings in the four socket head cap screws from
being damaged.
a. Hex key size for C Station: 5mm
b. Hex key size for D Station: 6mm
c. Hex key size for E Station: 6mm

4. Remove the punch head and the plastic cover.

5. Remove the disc springs, taking care to note the pattern in which they are stacked. It is essential to exactly duplicate
this stacking pattern during reassembly.
6. Thoroughly clean all of the exposed components, including the disc springs, and inspect them for excessive wear or
damage. It is acceptable for some wear to be present on the sleeve that passes through the center of the disc springs.
7. Replace any excessively worn components (see component list below for part numbers). Note that if any one of the disc
springs is broken or excessively worn, the entire stack should be replaced.
