There are ice specs in my freeze and in the ice cube holder and when I open refrigerator it makes a funny sound

Ice specs in the freezer and a funny sound when opening the LG LFXS28566 Series refrigerator could be caused by the icemaker operating without a connected water source. If the icemaker is turned on but not hooked up to a water line, the water valve may buzz and attempt to fill, creating unusual sounds and possibly leading to frost or ice specs. Turning the icemaker power switch to OFF can stop the noise and prevent ice buildup.
