1. Important Notices
The devices from Decento
range contain fragile porcelain parts,
®
which require caution during handling and installation.
Household wiring accessories work with electric voltage 230 V AC, it means
with voltage dangerous to life.
The installation of the instruments can be carried out only by person-
nel with corresponding electro-technical qualification.
The relevant electric circuit must be de-energized before start of installing. It
has to be ensured that the circuit cannot be switched on by other personnel.
Carry out a check (by voltage tester or measuring apparatus) that the circuit
has been really switched off. Use the same principles also when replacing
the device.
It is not allowed to use the devices for other than specified purposes, or for
different than prescribed voltages.
It is prohibited to use the devices at places with a risk of their flooding,
splashing by water, or at places with excessive dustiness that could cause
reducing their function and safety. This condition is not valid for the devices
that are intended for this type of environment and that are marked with
relevant degree of protection IP xx according to EN 60 529.
2. Conditions for using frames
Some frames are manufactured from wood, and it is necessary to ensure
optimum conditions during their use and storage:
Relative humidity of air: 30-60% at room temperature (approximately
20 °C)
If suitable conditions are not maintained, surrounding parameters can lead
to a change of dimensions and bending or twisting of the frame.
3. Preparation for Installation of Flush-Mounted Devices
If it is not determined differently, the devices are installed under the plaster
into wiring boxes. The following principles must be followed in order to
secure a correct installation:
a) The devices must be attached into suitable wiring boxes with
corresponding inner depth.
b) It is not necessary to use boxes with fixtures for solid partitions and
walls. Boxes with fixtures must be used for hollow partitions or plaster-
board partitions.
c) Distance of wiring box centres about 90 mm must be observed in case of
Decento
devices installations at horizontal or vertical directions.

d) Pay attention to the setting of the flush-mounted boxes during execution
of the construction works. The box must not protrude above the wall
surface after the plaster application and it must not be embedded below
the surface of the plaster either.
e) Conductor length in the wiring box must be about 13 cm.

4. Conductor Connection and Insert Fixing
Clamps of inserts are intended for tough solid conductors and tough
a)
stranded conductors. (The core of tough stranded conductors consists of
7 wires.)
In case of standard inserts, screw-less clamps are used for the
b)
conductors with cross-section of 1.5 - 2.5 mm
not specified differently. The length of conductor stripping is specified on
the insert. Secure that the stripped conductor ends are straight and
without any deformation.
In case of inserts with screw-less clamps just insert the conductor into
c)
the respective chamber of the clamp; clamps with screws require
tightening.
Marking of the clamps corresponds to their function in the electric circuit.

Neither orientation nor signalling glow lamps can be used for Decento
range.

Shape the conductors during installing the inserts into the boxes in such
a way that they cannot be released from the clamps.
Check correctness and strength of the conductor fixing in the clamps. If

conductors in screw clamps are loosened tighten them again. In case of
inserts with screw-less clamps, the conductor is fixed continuously by
a pressure in the clamp chamber.

5. Assembly and Disassembly of Devices

5.1 Frame placing
The frame must be placed on the insert in such a way that the fixing screws

fit into the frame slits. The frame must fit closely on the plaster.
5.2 Switches
The switch structure is shown in the Figures No. 1, 2. The porcelain handle
on carrier is inserted into the insert control handle. The cover is attached by
means of 2 screws to the insert.
Switch disassembly is done by unscrewing the cover from the insert and by
removing the frame.

5.3 Socket outlets
Attach the socket cover to the insert by means of the centre screw. The
screw also fixes the frame.
Socket disassembly is done by unscrewing the cover from the socket insert
and by removing the frame.
Plug in only plugs intended for this purpose into the sockets. Remove the
plug from the socket only by grasping the plug with the hand. Do not pull
the cable. Do not insert any other objects into the socket holes.

5.4 Communication Sockets
The communication socket contains the base with two holes 19.4 x 14.8
mm for attachment of connectors. Installation of connectors and cables is to
be done according to the relevant standards on the cable system
installation.
Attach the socket cover to the insert by means of the centre screw. The
screw also fixes the frame.
Socket disassembly is done by unscrewing the cover from the socket insert
and by removing the frame.

5.5 TV+R+SAT Sockets
The TV+R+SAT socket contains the insert for connection to the coaxial
cable. Installation of the insert and the cables is to be done according to the
relevant standards on installation of distribution systems for TV+R+SAT.
Attach the socket cover to the insert by means of centre screw. The screw
fixes also the frame.
Socket disassembly is done by unscrewing the cover from the socket insert
and by removing the frame.

6. Devices Maintenance
Maintenance of mechanical and electrical parts of the devices is not
necessary.

can be carried out only by personnel with the corresponding electro-

slightly wetted with mild soap solution and then can be dried with a dry

In case of interior painting it is recommended to remove the covers and to
strap the inserts with a suitable tape so that possible impurities cannot
penetrate into the inserts. (Relevant electric circuits must be de-energized
before the cover removal.)
7. Disposal
The way of application or disposal of unused parts of the products is
regulated by the relevant legal directives valid in your country.

1. Wichtige Hinweise
Die Geräte der Reihe Decento
die Vorsicht bei der Handhabung sowie bei der Installation erfor-
dern.
Die Geräte für Hauselektroinstallationen arbeiten mit der elektrischen Span-
nung 230 V AC, d. h. mit der lebensgefährlichen Spannung.
Die Geräte darf nur die Person mit der entsprechenden elektrotechni-
schen Qualifikation installieren.
Vor der Einbaueinleitung muss der jeweilige Stromkreis von der Stromver-
sorgung getrennt werden. Gleichzeitig muss es sichergestellt werden, dass

unerwünschte Einschaltung seitens anderer Personen nicht erfolgen kann.

Vor dem eigentlichen Einbau ist es notwendig, sich zu vergewissern (mit
