    In most in- stances the CC-3000 will be used with a third party software programs. In these instances, you will need to use this guide to install and connect the CC- 3000 to you computer.

    The CC-3000 can also be used with any generic terminal emulator software such as HyperTerminal. Refer to the protocol section of this manual for details. Hardware Specifications The CC-3000 is available in several variants.

    Getting Started Each CC-3000 is supplied with a 9 or 12 VDC DC power supply and commu- nication cable. This will either be a USB cable or a serial RS-232 cable de- pending on the model. A: CC-3000 B: Power Supply...
  • Page 8: Connecting 418/433 Mhz Models

    Ensure that power is applied only after all the receiver connec- tions have been made. The power jack is located on the back of the CC-3000 and the receiver jack is on the side. Do not apply power to the radio receiver, only apply power to the CC-3000.

    Make sure that the USB driver is correctly installed before connecting the USB cable to the computer. The USB port is located on the back of the CC-3000. The USB driver will assign a communications port to the device. Note that the port number will change if you plug the USB cable into a different port.

    Verifying Communication with the Weather Station A red LED is located on the back of the CC-3000. This LED will flash when the interface is receiving data from a weather station. It will blink every two seconds. As 418/433 MHz systems only broadcast every thirty seconds, the LED will provide one long blink upon reception of the data packet.

    Reset Button The reset on the back of the CC-3000 will force a soft reset. This will cause the device to reboot but will not reset the system clock. A soft reboot can also be initiated by issuing the “REBOOT” command. Refer to the instruction set for details.

    Commands Set: Commands must be terminated with a <CR> character. Responses begin and end with a <CR><LF>. If the command syntax or parameters are incorrect the device will respond with ERROR. If the command is accepted the device will respond with OK. Com- mands may not be chained together.
