Chapter 1. Structure and function of parts 1-1 General This blower forces inhaled gas by two impellers, which are of cycloidal profile and rotate smoothly in a casing providing predeter- mined clearance therebetween. Mechanism of the blower is arrang- ed n such a way as inhaled gas to be forced is pressurized against the pressure of the gas at the discharging outlet when the inhaled gas reaches the discharging outlet, and the structure is such that oil cannot be mixed to the gas to be discharged.

adjusting an adjustable gear. The adjustable gear should not be separated from a gear inner at the time of disassembling the blower with the aim other than adjustment of the gears. Usually, a solid gear is fixed to the drive shaft. 1-2-3 Bearings In compact models, solid ball bearings and roller bearings are used.

Chapter 2. Installation; Piping 2-1 Location (1) The blower should be installed in a building and where is well ighted and gas little dust. When it has to be installed outdoors, enough care should be paid to the motor, V-belt etc. (2) Enough space should be provided around the blower for easy and sure disassembling and re-assembling and satisfactory daily inspection.

    (3) Insert the foundation bolts into the predetermined places in the bed and let the bolts hang in the holes for the bolts, with the nut sscrewed at the top of the bolts. Insert metal edges suitably to sup port the bed correctly, as the bed may be distorted. (4) The bed must be set in a horizontal plane and the maximum allo wance is about 0.5mm per lm for the machined surface of the blo- wer.

2-5 Fitting V-belt (1) The best condition of V-belt is such that the V-belt is fitted as loo- se as possible without causing slip of the belt. As the belt stretch- es much at the early stage of operation, inspect the V-belt as often as possible.

To obtain the proper tension of the belt, adjust it so that its de dlection=0.016X 1(mm) is between the maximum and the minim- um of the lowd values mentioned in following table when it is per- pendicularly loaded at the middle of span(distance between the contract points of the belt and the pulleys).

If a dial gauge is not available, use a key for centering. Good Chapter 3 Operation 3-1 Preparation before operation (1) Remove dust and powder of cement inside and around the blower not to be mixed into oil. (2) Check if the joints of the inhaling and discharging piping are all closed.

    (4) Pour lubrication oil up to the upper red line of the oil level gauge. If the oil is not enough, it causes seizure, and, if the oil is too much , the temperature rises thereby causing damage to the gears and other parts.

    (5) Watch the indication of and ampere meter during the operation carefully, and, if any disorder is observed, stop the blower instantly , and investigate cause of the trouble. Most common cause is the impeller and the side cover. Those blowers assembled in the ma- nufacturer’s factory are already operated with the object of a dap- tation, but, pay enough attention , if the blower is disassembled and, then, reassembled at the plae of installation.
  • Page 13: Chapter 4 Maintenance

Chapter 4 Maintenance 4-1 Maintenance in general (1) Temperature of the casing usually rises substantially during oper- ation in proportion to the ratio of compression due to the heat gen- erated by compression, but, if the temperature rises partially and thepaint on the outer surface is burned, it is due to generation of heat caused b contact between the impeller and the casing or the inhaled foreign substance, In this case, stop operation and inves-...

    (2) Checking temperature of the bearing case. The temperature can be checked by a suitable thermometer, but the surface thermometer can be used conveniently for this pur- pose. (3) Checking inhaling and discharging pressure. Normal operation of the blower can be confirmed by checking The inhaling and discharging pressure.

(B) Order of disassembling (1) Remove all the attachments from the blower unit. (2) Draw out the oil from the gear case. Check if the oil contains foreign substances.
