Modbus Address The detector can communicate with the Gastech communicator software using a Modbus RTU compatible protocol on RS-485. This protocol allows for a network of detectors to be connected, each with a unique Modbus address. The address of the detector can be set to any value in the range 1–247.

The BIT process runs automatically at startup and periodically during the operation of the detector. The BIT can also be initiated manually by connecting the “Manual BIT” terminal and the “24 VDC (-) “terminal for one second (see Table 1) or by using the Gastech communicator software (connected through RS-485).
Where dust, dirt or moisture accumulates on the window, first clean the window with a soft optical cloth and detergent, and then rinse with a clean soft cloth, cotton swab, or tissue.
