An encoder must be installed in order for the control to determine the speed of the parent machine. For best results, 100 pulses per inch (1 pulse per mm) of product travel should be supplied to the VC350A. If less than 100 pulses per inch (1 pulse per mm) are supplied, poor resolution may result in pattern placement errors.
Page 24
Section 6 —Installation ® VC350A Flexoseal System Table 6-1 also shows you what your resolution should be, based on what type of encoder you are using. Once you have determined the resolution, a black marker should be used to color in the decimal point on the front-panel pushwheels not being used.

Page 198
VC350A Flexoseal ® System Appendix C —Options Pressure-Relief Accumulator—Mode 1 Valco has designed a closed-loop pressure-relief accumulator (Figure C-2). The accumulator is installed on the discharge side of the fluid regulator. A check valve, which allows adhesive to flow in only one direction, is installed on the inlet and outlet ports of the accumulator.
Page 199
System Pressure-Balancing Regulator The air-piloted, pressure-balancing glue regulator (Figure C-3) is used with Valco Cincinnati’s variable-speed pressure transducers. The regulator relieves glue pressure during production stops to prevent pattern flooding as production resumes. The air-pressure-to-glue-pressure ratio is 1:1. the assemblies include a 3-way shutoff valve and air-pressure regulator that allow operators to bypass the pressure transducer for system purge and testing.
Page 200
VC350A Flexoseal ® System Appendix C —Options When used with EPC, the glue pressure decreases as the machine speed decreases. When the machine is stopped, the glue pressure is relieved from the hose connected to the valve. If the valve needs to be purged or fired while the machine is stopped, air must be supplied to the dome of the regulator by a separate air line.
Page 201
System Channel B Upgrade Option Single-channel units may be converted into 2-channel units by ordering a second-channel kit for the VC350A control. The control can be upgraded in the field. See Section 12—Part-Number List for part number. Scanner Logic Module Kit A scanner-logic-module kit (Figure C-6) that permits the use of multiple scanners (1 to 4) to produce a single input signal to the control is also available.
