UDDY AND ITS ACCESSORIES Buddy has LCD display and button on its front panel. Display is in the center and buttons are on its right and left. Back panel hosts the battery covered with a flap. On the top and bottom of the panel there are metal fittings where all the connector ports are placed.

EFINITIONS Buddy has 10 keys on the front panel, 4 on left and 6 on right. Left side is referred as ‘A’ and right as ‘B’. All four keys on the side A are identical. Two keys on side B are identical to side A keys and placed toward top and bottom edge and four-keys are grouped as one 4-way key and placed in between the former two.

ORTS AND ONNECTORS Buddy has 2 connector ports and two pinholes on the top while 2 connector ports and 1 card slot on bottom metal fittings. Connectors are placed towards left and right edges of both the fittings. On the top fitting, left is external microphone input port while right is Mini-B USB 2.0 receptacle.

Connect the USB cable to transfer data from Host Computer. Plug-in the Battery Charger for charging the battery. Note: Buddy can be plugged into the Host PC and Player mode selected to Charge the battery while using Buddy. The same can also be done with the external AC adapter.

Use the same method to unlock it. Buddy comes with several bundled programs (as listed in the table above) that you can start using immediately. The Main menu screen displays the available programs on your player.
OOKS EATURE You can use Buddy to select and listen to DAISY 2.02 Digital Talking Books. Multiple books can be used simultaneously. Buddy remembers the bookmarks and last played location of each book individually (and stores it along with the original book). This allows the bookmarks to be carried along with the books (even if shifted to another Buddy).

Press CONTROL to set the DAISY navigation mode as Phrase, Heading (specific level) or Page. Press NAVIGATION UP and DOWN to select previous or next item as per the mode selected. The same mode stays enabled until Buddy is restarted. DAISY navigation modes are: •...
Open the Directories where you can browse music files by the sub-directories in the player or memory card. All Songs Lists All Songs in Buddy. You can browse music files by file name or song title. My Playlists My Playlists submenu where you select to play from 5 saved custom playlists.

Figure 10: Music Playback screen Note: If the last screen you were in was the Music Playback when you turned off Buddy, next time you launch music, it will open Playback screen directly. To switch back to the Library screen, press MENU.
