    Video Tiles vs. SDI and NDI Video I/O The SDI and NDI outputs carry the full frame rate of the video signal. The Kiosk view (monitor connected directly to BRIDGE NDI 3G device through its monitor rear connector) and the Web Browser view are intended for confidence monitoring and, depending on the video processing load on BRIDGE NDI 3G, may reflect somewhat less than the full frame rate of the signals.

    BNC connectors. Selecting the SDI source for each channel on BRIDGE NDI 3G is determined by the cabling of SDI sources to the BNC connectors on the rear of the BRIDGE NDI 3G device. As soon as you have connected active input signals, those sources will be visible immediately on the I/O Screen (as long as the Bank buttons are blue, reflecting the SDI to NDI direction).

When viewed from the I/O Screen, since each Bank has four connectors available, BRIDGE NDI 3G will automatically create a pair of Dual-Channel Video + Key Groups that will show as two “collapsed” Video Tiles, each representing the signal across two of the four 3G-SDI connections that are being used to receive the dual Video + Key (HD) signals via SDI, using that specific Bank.

    If the system will be devoted to receiving incoming NDI from the NDI Network and decoding to SDI for output from the rear of Bridge NDI, then all SDI connections to BRIDGE NDI 3G will be 3G-SDI Destinations such as switchers, routers, ingest servers, and edit bays.

Note, though, that to get the correct result, the Bank(s) will need to be configured correctly by the operator of BRIDGE NDI 3G. Banks do not reconfigure between HD, 4K and Video plus Key automatically based on NDI Source changes.

    The Control Bar provides easy access to the most frequently used video and audio controls and settings. The Control Bar is located along the lower area of the BRIDGE NDI 3G interface. It is split into five tabs: Monitoring, Video Setup, Audio Setup, Presets, and Cabling.

This can be changed to either 16 channels or two channels depending on your workflow. NOTE: Some NDI receivers (hardware or software) have problems when receiving 16 audio channels.

    Active Mapping The Active Mapping section of the Source/Destination Screen provides a mapping of the signals that are coming in and going out of BRIDGE NDI 3G. It indicates the direction and signal type for each of the 16 channels.

If you are missing the Quick Start Guide, you will have to contact AJA tech support.

    Set-up one switch to the Control port in order to connect to the Internet and to be able to access BRIDGE NDI 3G via a web browser. A second switch with a separate IP address will be needed to connect your NDI sources and destinations.

To monitor SDI outputs from BRIDGE NDI 3G, connect the rear BNC connectors to an SDI Monitor or MultiViewer or Router.

    Changing the System Name The System Name can be changed from the System Settings Screen. Your BRIDGE NDI 3G will come from the factory with a unique System Name, but your organization may wish to assign it another name according to your internal naming schema.
