- Page 2 STANDARD INSTRUCTIONS Follow these steps to begin using your Hooker Electric Standard Reel Series. Check the position of the manual handle and release it to the neutral position (high-speed button). The handle will go in both directions freely. Turn the speed control knob all the way to neutral position (full counter-clock wise).
