All sawn parts must be re-treated with a wood preservative for wood rot. Pre-drill the holes for the screws and use the correct drill size. You have to take care yourself of a solid anchorage to the base or foundation. Hillhout is not responsible for damage, caused by a poor anchorage. - Page 7 Because of the natural working of wood, the log cabin can expand or shrink. To meet the working of wood, a crack is foreseen above the door. In ‘dry circumstances’ this crack is covered by a slat (so the crack is invisible). A Hillhout log cabin is standard pressure treated.
