Problem Solving (cont.)
The machine will not turn on:
- is the cord plugged in?
- check to insure that the pushbutton is fully depressed.
- the machine may need to be cleaned. See the "Deliming is a Must" section
below on page 9.
- wait 3 minutes minimum (unit must cool down before starting another brew
(cycle) and try again.

Daily Care

1. To maintain the quality of all parts and minimize tea stains, we recommend
washing the pitcher, pitcher lid, steeping basket and steeping basket lid with
warm water and mild detergent, regularly.
2 . Hard water can leave a whitish mineral deposit inside the pitcher and steep-
ing basket. Tea and coffee discolors these deposits. To remove, fill the bas-
ket and pitcher with warm white vinegar and let it soak for about 20 minutes.
3.
Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners. They will cause scratches which can
lead to breakage.
Deliming is a Must
The Iced Tea Pot must be delimed when you begin to notice an increase in
steaming or if the pumping action stops before all the water has been pumped
out of the machine.
The frequency of cleaning depends on the hardness of water used. Listed below
are the suggested cleaning intervals.
Type of Water
For best results use MR. COFFEE CLEANER. It works better than vinegar and
has no unpleasant odor. Instructions for both Mr. Coffee Cleaner and vinegar
follow:
USING MR. COFFEE CLEANER
(Read caution statement on side panel of Mr. Coffee Cleaner before use).
1. Fill the pitcher with warm water to the 3 quart WATER level marked on the
pitcher.
2. Empty contents of one packet of MR.
Mix thoroughly to dissolve the cleaner.. This will make a clear blue solution.
