    Radio Models “HiLine” and “Premium” Depending on the equipment level of your vehicle, one of two versions of the radio is installed. The “HiLine” model radio is installed as standard equipment and is equipped with an integrated 4-channel amplifier. The “Premium”...
  • Page 10: Anti-Theft Protection - Recoding Sequence

    Anti-theft Protection If the voltage supply to the radio unit is disconnected, the word “CODE” will appear on the radio’s display after the radio is switched on. In this mode, the radio is rendered inoperable. Radio function can only be restored by entering a five digit code retrieved from a radio code card (supplied with the vehicle) using the radio preset buttons.

    Operation Switching On/Off, Adjusting Volume Switching on/off: press volume control knob . The radio is switched off by turning the ignition key to steering lock position 0 or by removing the ignition key. The radio is switched on again by turning the ignition key to steering lock positions 1 or 2.

    Fader Press button until “FAD” appears on display. Turn volume control knob to right - sound is directed to front speakers. Turn volume control knob to left - sound is directed to rear speakers. Bass Press button until “BASS” appears on display. Turn volume control knob to right - bass level increases.

    Resetting Audio Controls for all Modes All audio controls (FADER-BASS-TREBLE-BALANCE) are set to their center or flat positions and the volume is set to a predetermined level. “RESET” appears on the display. With any of the audio controls displayed, press audio select button again for longer than 2 seconds.

    Manual Tuning Press and hold button for longer than 2 seconds. A beep will be heard and the frequency appears on the display. Step-by-step tuning of the frequency in ascending or descending order occurs as long as “--” appears in front of the frequency indicated on the display.

    Weather Band (WB) Press button. The frequency last tuned to broadcasts weather informa- tion. If reception of that frequency is not possible, the radio automatically seeks the next weather band frequency available. Cassette (CC) Operation Playing Cassettes Insert cassette into its port until the unit pulls the cassette in. The radio auto- matically switches to cassette operation.

    Compact Disc (CD) Operation Preparing the CD Changer for Operation If the Mercedes-Benz integrated CD changer is installed, the CD changer can be operated as soon as the magazine containing the CD’s is loaded (see illustration). Take care in inserting the discs into the magazine properly and the magazine correctly into the CD changer port.

    Fast Forward/Reverse Press button and hold for longer than 2 seconds while a track is playing. A beep tone will sound and the track will rapidly fast forward/reverse with reduced volume. As long as fast forward/reverse is active, the display will indicate the elapsed time of the respective track in seconds.

    Cellular Telephone Operation The following functions are only available in conjunction with the installation of a special Mercedes-Benz cellular telephone: Incoming and outgoing calls interrupt the radio operating modes and allow the conversation to be heard using the sound system’s speakers.     User Memory for Audio Controls Audio control settings for two users can be stored using the station preset buttons. The settings are available for all operation modes.
