- Page 4 RADIO OPERATION ANTENNAS AM-This unit has a built-in ferrite rod antenna, which eliminates the need for an external antenna, and provides adequate receipt in most areas. If reception is weak, turn the unit to improve receipt. FM- The telescopic antenna on the top of the unit is for FM reception only. If reception is weak, adjust the length and the angle of the antenna.
